Photos of our Reunion 30Aug2014

It was a pleasant and refreshing reunion last Saturday evening at Jot's home. For some of us it was the second time meeting up since our last gathering at Yoke Nyen's house back in 2009. And for a couple of others who missed 2009 it was the first meet up.

Many thanks and heartfelt appreciations to Jot and family for being excellent hosts to all of us. His wife and children were busy throughout the evening diligently making sure we all were well served and feeling comfortably at home.

And much thanks to Boon Aun and Min Onn for taking the trouble to set up the TV and karaoke system the day before our reunion, and for leading us in some hearty, nostalgic and cheerful singing.

Among us is an unsung hero, Kien Weng, who has quietly but conscientiously seen to it that we have a sumptuous dinner that involved, among other food, an entire steam boat van (call it Lok-Lok if you like). He also carried out the not-too-pleasant task of going around asking for payment from each of us in the midst of our hearty chit-chats. Thanks Kien Weng for doing so much for this event.

My apologies that it has taken so long for me to put up this post. (Was occupied with lots of exam marking over the weekend. Just submitted a batch of scripts to the office yesterday, with another to go this weekend.)

Here are photos taken by our expert photographer, Wing Soon. They are not arranged in any particular order. Nevertheless, it will go down in history as a permanent record of our memorable evening.

Goodbye, dear Classmates. Looking forward to 2019.

    1. You're very much welcome, Wing Soon. I'm kind of busy but perhaps not as hard pressed as you and your team of teachers in SMKTBM right now with your crazy deadlines. :)

  2. Wing Soon, Thanks for the photos
Peng You, Thanks for following through and organising the event - it would not have happened without your efforts and dedication.

    1. You're welcome, Boon Ann. Not much effort and only somewhat dedicated really, because all I have been doing is to communicate with everybody on the internet. Sort of putting into practice some of the theory I have been teaching my business management students about "virtual organisation". Looks like some of you guys are ahead of me in using whatsapp while I'm still stuck with my old fashioned email and blog. Thanks again for your kind words and for flying all the way back to be with us last Saturday. Hope to meet you again.

  3. Let's give ourselves a pat for continuing our friendship. Guess as age catches up ( not that we are old - just look at Boon Ann! ), we treasure the bygone years we had spent. There were up and down times but like wine, the years have matured the experiences so that we can look back and smile at all the silly and not so silly things we did. Was it that long ago since we last met? 2009 seems like only yesterday. Yet time and tide waits for no man, as the age old adage goes. So as we trudge along ( some of us are sailing along! ) through the years, may we have more opportune time to meet, laugh at old times, sing a song or 2 and await more momentous times in the coming future. Till our next meet ( it need not be another 5 years ) take care of your health, smile alot, check your happiness scale ( refer to Edmund! ) and stay in touch. Much cheers.
